From Hockey to Hollywood

So last fall our office moved, still staying in downtown Toronto, but closer to Union Station - the main transit hub. For someone like me who lives outside the core, this was great. It was also great because I knew of a card shop not too far (less than a 10 minute walk) from the new location. That said, I had only been there once, and planned to go check it out but didn't have the chance until this past week.

I could be in some trouble here....

They have a good selection of unopened packs, old and new, covering all major sports, as well as a deep collection of singles including vintage and inserts, as well as other memorabilia such as signed pucks, balls, photos, etc. From Hockey To Hollywood is somewhere I can see spending a fair bit of time and money.

For my initial visit since the move I figured I would just pick up a few unopened packs for that collection of mine since there were many I didn't have.

My first unopened pack of 1988 Topps Big...

1995 Topps Series 2 - I have a couple cards of this, but not much...

Definitely have some of these cards, and the Leaf packs from the couple years before this, so it continues that line...

Again, picked up just a couple of these cards in repacks, but hadn't seen these packs before.

Classic Upper Deck packaging...

Good ol' O-Pee-Chee Premier

I got all of the above for $10 - not too shabby. Definitely looking forward to going back, but I'm not sure my wallet is...

    1. It is a nice little shop - interesting in location - not something you'd necessarily see from the street and shares an entrance with a Tim Horton's - just to make it even more Canadian I guess. As for prices, definitely some deals to be had and a good wide variety and selection, worth the visit.

  2. Sounds like a great shop. Our local shop does box sales only, no packs. Didn't do any singles for years (I started shopping there in 1999) but brought some in recently.
