Getting Lucky

Well, I was hoping this may be the case with the box. As I picked up one of the gold jersey parallels, I was hoping it might be in addition to the 2 jersey cards you usually get in a box, rather than replacing one. As it turns out, that is exactly what happened as here is the second "normal" jersey card...

Not as nice as getting a Pavel in a Vancouver uniform, but I'll take it. Really enjoyed seeing him play as a kid. Heck, it's not even your normal white jersey, looks like a stray blue thread in there too!

As seems to go with the jersey packs, some base keepers...

and some base dupes...

At this point, over 2/3 of the box completed, and with the likely hits in hand, I'd say the box is a success. The only remaining part for me to see is, how far can I get on the base set. Quick math says, given the 300 card base set, 36 packs with an average of 6 base cards per pack, a perfect box would be 216 of 300 cards, but given a few dupes, I'd be thrilled with 200 of 300 off the one box.

Would definitely add the rest to my want list and see if I could get there on the last third.

28 Packs, 196 Cards, 1,158 Points.

  1. Well, he's a Hall of Famer and a member of the 100 Greatest NHL PLayers club.

Fleury is the best of the rest, methinks.

  2. Cool Bure. It's easy to forget that he played in NY for a couple of seasons. I really like the look of that jersey card design with the Rangers logo in the background. I'll have to see if any Sharks made the checklist.
