Let's GO! Here is another big set as far as card numbers are likely to go in the BASEball lot. A 700 card base set, and what looks to be, for the second series, a few copies of each card here, so plenty to go through on this set. It's one I was collecting, though again, only about 10% of the set in my hands before starting through the cards in the lot, but hope I should be close to 75% when done here, but time will tell.
If you don't recall the set...
It looks a lot like the 2019 Topps Update set we worked through not too long ago here on the blog. I don't mind for those sets, the same design being used, and this is a good enough one as far as I am concerned. Again, backs are fab.
As for the interesting ones from the first 100 cards here...
A Jays card is always a plus, but the surprise was this variation base card. I was a bit surprised as I expected these would have been pulled before I got the lot, but here we are. I guess it means two things - first - that base variations are easy to miss when they don't really stand out that much and someone isn't looking THAT closely, and second - I raise an eyebrow to what other little quirks we may end up finding.
The set also has some uncorrected error cards in the mix, so we get a few of those for the error collection as well...
Then, dupes for trade - won't share those when we get into the second series as there will be plenty, but here are some for show now.
I'll try and remember to add the green highlight to point out what I am currently showing in the post - and here, since we have a few more days to work through, I expect 2019 Topps will move on up the chart a few spots.
