With the next pack of 2003-04 Pacific Quest For The Cup, I wanted to give a view of the back of these base cards because this is about as basic as you can get.
We have a great three here with the inclusion of Mario and the Dominator, again in his Detroit colours. The backs though, don't have much - simple facts, simple stats, no story or write up, and a lot of white space.
Definitely underwhelming.
This pack does have an upside with the inserts...
It's a Dominator hot pack! This also continues the string of goalies in these Complete set cards.
We end with a Chasing The Cup insert (which fall every 16 packs) of Joe Thornton. With such a long career, and at times, long beard, the man had a great run. I consider him very much in the same vein as a Jarome Iginla.
Like the design of the card too, does keep that Cup design from the base set, and does it a bit better.

Not sure how much longer Thornton will play... but it's a shame he's never won a SC Championship. He's had one heck of a career... and sure set up a lot of goals for his teammates over the years.
ReplyDeleteWell, seems Toronto really wants to bring him in - which would be nice for Toronto, but may not help that "looking for a Stanley Cup" issue.
