From Peterborough to the Pacific

Today we start with Peterborough and a nice thank you to Mike at Not Another Baseball Card Blog who was kind enough to send along a few cards which hit a couple different needs. Surprise cards are indeed the best cards...

First, in continuing my close in on finishing 1989 Topps...

These go to good use.

As well, there were of course a few more Blue Jays for the collection...

Great cards - I especially enjoy the Halladay. Thank you again Mike, and as always, I will keep an eye out on cards for you and send them your way here and there.

Now moving on to the Pacific...similar to the run of 2009-2010 O Pee Chee the other day, we get a run from a different set which we haven't seen much of - so glad to get more...

Highlights:

I only have just over a dozen cards from this set, so getting an added handful is nice. I also generally like the photography of the set - full photo without border, info at the bottom and although quirky in design, out of the way. Best here is the Koivu card which Mike Modano is trying to take over the shot.

Traders:

No other keepers today unfortunately. Although the are new to me, cards here including the 2008-09 Fleer basketball and 2005 SPx football, on the other hand, this is the 3rd 1991 Upper Deck Joe Montana card, and 4th Rick Nash 2009-10 McDonalds hockey card. I cannot complain about quality trade material like these I guess, but definitely would rather a bit more variety.

Through 5520 cards:

  1. The Kenyon Martin here is my favorite. He's actually one of my favorite players, and when my Nets traded him away is when they no longer were able to get to the NBA finals. Always disappointed by that...I still wear his Nets jersey from time to time.
