Insert and parallel-palooza

This kinda Santa Lot 20 is one I enjoy most - lots of inserts/parallels, even if I won't be keeping them all, and a few Leafs to boot! Unlike a pack you get off the shelf where you might end up with one or two, this allows for quite a bit more. Here we have...well...let's just take a look see...

Highlights:

None of the Leafs are new as I had one of each already, but given these are a couple sets I am looking to complete as well, it is great having the second copy to go to the Leaf binders accordingly. These are two great examples of Masterpieces cards that show truly why the set is so awesome - great great cards...so beautiful.


As for the parallels, the blue border Bee Hive as a lot better looking than I would have expected. First one I have seen in hand and quite impressed with it. A Leaf with the border would look amazing given how nice it looks with an Oiler uni.

Boo to getting two of these..but overall there haven;t been too many lately, so no the end of the world...

Just the one add to 2007-08 SP Authentic, but great player add with Modano.

Traders:

Those rounded corners bother me on the 2004-05 Gold Medallion Ultra parallels. Sure they stand out in a box, but not a shape that means much. Would have made more sense to just make them round/basketball shaped, or have the corner clear or something. Just doesn't mean much, or I am missing the point other than it is being different.

As for something like the Omar Jacobs insert, these kind of inserts which look very similar to the base set version are problematic to me. Either be the same except a border colour change as a parallel, or be a different looking card as an insert - this would help avoid any confusion.
