So far, so good

Today we get to continue through the 1999 Topps Opening Day base set...

I said yesterday that the photos were pretty basic, but Todd's got a good oddball shot there taking some shade under a towel. Even Sammy's mid slide photo is a pretty nice one too.

At least today we also get a couple Jays cards...

I've talked before about how odd Jose in a Jays uniform is for me. Whether you like the guy or not, or agree to disagree on how he should be viewed when it comes to the steroids aspect, it's amazing that he hit his most homeruns in a year, as a Jay with 46 compared to the 44 in his prime with Oakland in 1991.

His resurgence was short lived with 1999 being fairly good with Tampa before a cool off and retirement after 2001.
