Getting A Seaver and some 1972 hockey

I had quite a busy weekend on Listia, so I should have a few items to add in over the next week or two as things arrive. Also, I've had a number of trades on TCDB so there will be those to look at as well - so definitely keeping busy.

What arrived today from Listia is a few 1972-73 O Pee Chee hockey cards. Truth be told, my attention was drawn because of the Toronto name on a number of the cards, but on review, none are actually Toronto players. That said, I did find that the two duplicate cards are rror cards, so I figured I'd pick them up for that. The card itself is an uncorrected error, and as you can tell, one is also a printing error as it is off.

Some nice pictures, and cards I didn't have, overall a great little pickup that I'm happy with.

As I've mentioned before, I'm not one to spend big on older cards - so that is why the like of some of the sets which include "older" players. This is why the highlights for today...

Highlights:

Man, I enjoy these cards...first Tom Seaver card for my collection...three more nice Classics cards in all - up to 39 in total for the set and climbing...

The rest
Keepers:

Like the Shannahan card - even with the improper team. Right in the transition - all the stats on the back being Red Wing, and Ranger on the front....

Traders:

The SPx set is knocked down to 22 remaining which is nice, including the Kobe which I thought might be one of the cards that could be missing - and some more 2007 Score Select, but nothing much to say there...

Be interesting to see if I come across any older, or reflecting on older set cards for basketball or football. Wouldn't be a big hurrah for me in keeping them, but would be interesting to come across...

Through 2480 cards:

  1. I am dying to find out what you will have left for the Classics set...I've likely got them waiting for you.

    1. Lol - good to know as I am dying to find our what I need too! I just opened the next box worth, say 2000 cards, and saw at a glance maybe 50 or so more from the set...it'll just take some time to work through...but at least it is fun time!
