These packs from the 2016 WWE Topps Heritage blaster are getting worse instead of better when it comes to cards I need as even with the inserts now, just one keeper in the pack today...
A shame that her WCW run wasn't nearly as good as the WWE one beforehand, but I have no idea how the behind the scenes goings on really impacted that and how her run went on screen.
I guess we still need to show the rest of the pack, even if nothing here for what I need...
A variety of stars here and the first NXT subset card from the base set coming from this blaster, just as luck has it since there is no short printing or anything like that.
Winner is the Andre card since the throwback design coupled with the fact he was a star in the 80s when the design was first used, and yup, fantastic card. Too bad it's not a fantastic pack for me.
What was fantastic for me, was the trade with CharlesD from TCDB which we did at the CardEx at the Burlington Mall - definitely the highlight of the day for me. Here was what I picked up...
A couple team set needs, the All-Star Pop Up Gruber. the panel of Hostess cards which includes Stieb, and a bunch of Hostess Jays which are still in packaging - so I'll have to check as I think I will be keeping them that way and adding to the unopened pack collection with these Jays. I'd rather not open them and look for opened cards where I am trying to complete the team set (I think I just need Guzman.
I am close to finishing another of the Jays World Series sets that were put out with these fine adds.
The tiny Post Benning I definitely needed and work towards getting the last of the Leafs for that release.
Funny that I had some of the Black's cards in the other trade I did that day, and happy with any dupes as I keep them, but between those, the Jell-O Douggie, and in package Berezin - all great additions.
Cheez Whiz cards....yup, got those too, including a couple non-Leaf pick ups as these are cool cards I don't see and would count them as keepers being inserts to food issue releases, so all good.
Charles was kind enough to throw in the oversized Auston which was unnecessary but very gracious and appreciated of him.
He had some wrestling and as I said to him, it's harder to find and trade for so it's usually the first place I go for matches. Many more have baseball and even hockey so more chances for those pick ups, but wrestling is fewer and far between. Add in the fact the hostess cards are in package, and I'll have to see how I keep these ones, but probably in package as well.
We end with a bunch of 2020 Topps Finest needs, and that ends the great, and fairly substantial trade. A great guy, and I hope we can do more trades in the future, I just need to find more cards for his want list!
A. Cheez Whiz cards? Awesome. That's one of those childhood food items I'd beg my mom for at the grocery store... but she'd never buy it. Never even knew they had a hockey card promotion.
ReplyDeleteB. Love those 1987 Hostess WWF stickers! Just added it to my saved eBay searches. I'd love to buy a complete set since 1987 was when my interest in WWF peaked.
A. In the same boat - hadn't seen them before and didn't know they existed, but very cool.
DeleteB. So much nostalgia with them because I remember getting them in the chip bags as a 7-8 year old and how cool they were - we need to bring that kind of thing back so I have an excuse to eat more junk food!
