An Extreme PresstiCube

This opening is from....a number of years ago. I bought this right off the Presstine website with some other items when there was a sale including free shipping. I think the cube was maybe $15 CDN and I picked it up out of interest. I mean, less than 10 cents a card, though I expected most would be from the late 80s or early 90s, but should be enough to get something of interest. I don't think the cubes are available anymore, so, if it is good, can't go get another one, and if it sucks - well, can't get burned on another.

Will have to wait to see the special premium cards - I did go through and kind of separate by date section and we will start today with 1989 and earlier - forgive me if there is a little overlap or wiggle between them. I am also not scanning the cube itself, though a 250 card cube is not shabby to have from this either.

1987 Fleer is a slow build set, so nice for a couple needs there, same with 1987 Hygrade Baseball's All Time Greats which I haven't seen much of, but really like the subject material, so would love to get more of.

1989 Topps I'll pass on, though at least there's an Expo card I can pass along.

Well, nothing I really need from these three high production sets. I mean, 1987 Topps, 1988 and 1989 Donruss are pretty much everywhere.

1987 Donruss I am working on and these adds are nice - including a Jays pickup - 1988 Topps, not so needed.

A few helpers for 1989 Upper Deck, and if I am going to get three copies of a card, not going to complain about it being a Jays card with Kelly Gruber here - nice!

A nice ending for the bunch as 1988 O Pee Chee is a great set and one I have a bunch of work to still do on, but these knock off 9 more of the base cards for me.

A pretty solid start with about 20 keepers out of about 70, and given those are the pre-1990 cards, I'm hoping it will only get better from here. Will take a few days to work through the box, but pretty pumped with this start.

  2. That's cool to see 80's OPC in one of these boxes. Plus there are some really cool singles like that 88T Matt Williams rookie card. That card was super popular in my area in the late 80's.

    1. Loved Matt - and yeah, wasn't expecting O Pee Chee to really show up much.
