Not Any More

Today,a quick one "pack" opening as we go back a few years to when Dollarama had these random 15 cards in a pack of Magic cards for what worked out to 10 cents a card plus tax.

I always hope to at least get one card to keep in these packs, and this one caught my attention because of the white border. White border cards stopped many years ago, so nice to know there is something from a little while ago before even opening. I am use to the black borders now, but I still prefer the white.

The big difference is/was - white borders, when not sleeved, can get dirty looking over time with smudge marks and such, while black border cards can so easily knick and it stands out very clearly compared to the white border, so I still prefer white border, but just not a choice.

Eighth edition - that's a while ago, and though not a card I ever played with and not one I am keeping today, still a good throwback card.

I can't put my finger on it but the Meteor Golem print looks a little off. Might just be a poor print job, which is unusual, and I will have to compare to others, but just seems a little off on quality. Might be fine, but my first thought was whether it was real or not, but feels and looks good otherwise.

Divide By Zero is the newest card in the bunch from 2021 so that just tells you this one has been sitting around since about early 2022. Not much for me, but a decent split for age of cards, and look at the rarity - one rare card, six uncommon, and eight common - a split I'd take any day in a pack at least.

Would take a couple artifacts in one of these packs to really score decent, and that just didn't happen today.

  1. The Marauding Blight-Priest is a cool looking character. Looks like something from the Star Wars universe.

    1. With a Star Trek crossover coming in 2026, a crossover with Star Wars may not be too far off....
