Hockey Hobby

A first note to everyone, to use this day (in Canada) of Remembrance for fallen soldiers and those impacted by the effects of war, current and past, and being thankful for those who served and protected our country. It's a tough day for many who have had personal impacts from such events and individuals they know, impacted by it.

Here, with a lighter moment for today, we have a hobby box of the lower end product 2021-22 Upper Deck MVP hockey to start working through. I have 75 of the 250 base cards already, and with the cards here and a bit of luck, I will hopefully be done or down to some of the short print cards in the base set to finish this one off. Well, actually won't be quite done - 20 packs, probably 5 base cards a pack, less dupes....maybe I should be happy to get around 75% done....let's leave the math to math itself!

A good looking box, with odds detailed on the back and with packs...

That look like a smaller version of the box. I like low end cards as much as high end as long as the cards look decent, and this set is pretty nice.

The green base colour is fine, though the high numbered rookie cards are blue, but both soft colours. You can see the parallel Ice Battle gaming style cards look very similar save for the parallel name on the front (the back is completely different with gaming type stats only).

The other insert today is the mascot gaming card. A different take on including mascots, and I don't mind it. Wouldn't want to see it every year, but I enjoy collectible card games and get what they are going for here, so not bad at all.

A solid first pack, and with one kept for the unopened pack collection, a nice start.
