As I close in on getting through the first 100 cards of the 2021 Topps flagship set, we'll, as it is in the BASEball lot, I wonder a bit, how am I going to trade away 20-30 copies of some of these base cards?
I'm already entertaining the idea of giving out sports card little assorted packs this coming Halloween. I mean, worst case, they get played with and thrown out, best case, they spark interest in a youngster.
Otherwise, I might be trying to sell a cheap box of assorted cards myself on Kijiji, but will figure that out later. Maybe I can trade away a few starter base boxes to others wanting a good start on the set.
Going through another 300-400 actual cards means cards numbered 55-90....trust me, there much less of series two, but here are the cards I got...
We get to play "is it a Jay card" today, so let's take a closer look...
It is obviously a Braves checklist card, but even the back references Vladdy, and he is pictured on the front which makes it hard to decide. I know TCDB has it tied to being a Toronto card as well as Atlanta so for now will treat it the same, but does begin to get to a line of whether Jays in a picture are enough. If Vladdy wasn't named on the back, or if the front didn't refer to both, I'd call it an easy Atlanta only card. Thoughts?
Those missing do seem to be rookie cards, so at least I know what I will be chasing to finish the set off later, though will have to see how many that will mean.
