More BASEball cards today with 2020 Stadium Club and Stadium Club Chrome representing, and we get some sweet Jays cards to start...
I mean, this is why Stadium Club cards are some fantastic - that photography is excellent. Whether the great full head shot of Guerriel, a nice horizontal card showing Biggio with the throw around second, the photos are so crisp and well done, it's just amazing.
The backs are fine, though I really wish they would have used the actual related ballpark for the silhouette instead of one for all, but that's a small complaint.
II didn't scan all of the cards, bt was tempted to show the photography.
I am sure there is some technological limitations in using old photos like those for Gehrig and Williams, but even those look fantastic here.
As I mention, the backs could be improved if the stadiums were specific but at least the team colour coding works. Always the "I want full stats" issue, but nice otherwise.
As for the Chrome version...
Not too many of the cards, and frankly, they are not nearly as nice as the "regular" set because the Chrome effect draws away form the background details. I don't mind the set, but like other Chrome sets, just not something that really draws me to want to collect them. Maybe I am in the minority though.
Stadium Club has always been a favourite despite the availability issues I find with it
