Hello and welcome to the opening of another pack today...but first - had another trade with corozco at TradingCardDB.com. A few trades later and in all I have been able to change about 50 basketball and football cards from the Santa Lot 20 into cards for my collection - mostly Jays and 1989 Topps. Today, all Jays adds...
Some nice 2016 Topps base cards as I have yet to buy any 2016 Topps, great to get more of these. Really like the leader cards - especially when I get two Jays on one card!
As I shared with you before, I had one of the Jose Bautista bat flip cards which I won off Listia a while back - but somehow this didn't end up marked off on by tradingcarddb listing, so it showed I needed another. If there was ever a card I would want multiple of - this would be, so still very glad to get it!
I love this picture. The pure effort, caught in full dive - just excellent.
A couple 2016 Topps Heritage cards were included as well - my first such cards, so excellent adds for that reason alone.
That all being shared and done, here is the pack we are also going to open...
Where do I stand ahead of this pack? I own 15 of the 271 base cards, and 4 gold parallels. I should be picking up one more gold parallel since there is one a pack, but no idea otherwise...
Card number one in the set...
Mr. Carrie Underwood....
A rookie card (nice)
There is the gold insert...
So, all new to me, all good adds, the design is standard Ultra, but I do like the "rough ice surface" kind of look to the gold medallion card look. Simply, the player pose is identical to the base, the background is changed to, well, gold.
An ok pack, though only getting 5 cards always kind of irks me...
I'm still trying to get a bat flip card
ReplyDeleteAt least from a price standpoint, I think they have already come down dramatically. I saw people asking $10 or more for the base version, still are some getting close - but the parallels are still a bit crazy in price.
