Personal National Baseball Day

These promotions are always a good idea - especially when cards are given away for free as it is an easy way to hook people on cards and collecting, then they start spending money on the habit...then they can't stop themselves...are we talking about drugs or baseball cards...actually, could go for either sometimes.

Today's Santa Lot 20 has two excellent highlights...

2008 National Baseball Card Day and getting a Griffey card is an excellent pull. Just earlier this year he made it into the Hall (and well deservedly so). dd to that getting to over 50% complete now on the 2008-09 Upper Deck Masterpieces set, and this makes a great day - especially with the nice Messier card.

Keepers:

In general, I am a fan of Black Diamond - it has its place, is shiny and thick card stock. Some of the designs are definitely better than others. This year's design is fine - middling in my opinion.

Traders:

I will say, that is a sweet Nash pose blowing by his opponent.Add to that the Fleer Glossy parallel and 2007 Topps Football Generation Now insert, and even the traders turned out pretty good today.
