Gold and Glossy

So under the "cards I should have no problem getting, but don't have yet", I picked up one quick card off Listia:

There are still a few cards from the Jays team set for 1988 Topps I am missing, but there should be plenty out there....

I hope everyone is looking forward to the long weekend ahead. I always enjoy the long May weekend as it is the first real downtime since busy season is over at the end of April. Luckily the Santa Lot 20 figured it would bring a good start to the weekend...

Highlights:

These 2008-09 Fleer basketball cards atleast make the parallel obvious and clear as the back says in a simple box in the bottom right corner, "glossy" and the border, instead of the grey of the base set is a nice gold. I do like the gold versus the grey of the base set, and the Dwayne Wade card is a nice pic.

As for the McDonald's card - there has been a few of these so far - hopefully a Leaf or two will be forthcoming.

The rest
Keepers:

Al Kaline - card number 1 for the set - a nice pick up indeed, and with a .297 lifetime average an a homerun shy of 400, doesn't get more solid than that. Also, continuing the Avalanche theme of yesterday, seems there were a number more for pickup here as well.

Traders:

Saw the first Turkey Red football card yesterday, and a couple more here (though unfortunately the same). Otherwise decent star power - Malone, Parket, Messier....nice cards...even a Raptor to boot.

Hopefully everyone enjoys their long weekend and we will see you back here after it...or if nothing better to do, check in over the weekend too!

  1. I've got a whole two row box of pack fresh '88s. Add that list to the 2005 Classics list when you're done.
