So, as much as I like to marvel at new cards, of which, just two keepers today...
As much as I like checking out the other sports cards I come across...
This is really what I am marveling at today...
More early 90s Marvel Comic Cards.
Some solid ones today like Hulk and Black Panther. I even know a few of the others, like Nick Fury. I know since the set is well over 100 cards, there are plenty of names that are new to me (someone who knows the characters more from 90s cartoons than comics since I was never a comic kid).
I know I saw Cable on some cartoon, and definitely Apocalypse too. Wolverine and Punisher are solid ones as well.
As much as I enjoyed the X-Men cartoon, as I say, didn't ever pick up a comic for whatever reason. Can't really say why, just wasn't something that got to my hands to really get into.
Just to be different, we end with a single Spider Man card with Kingpin pictured, and appropriately, given his large size, he doesn't even fit into the frame.
Were you big into comics, or was it the cartoons, or neither back in the 90s?
I'm a lifelong DC only reader but I collected the Marvel cards in the 90s, and will still pick up one occasionally. Completing the 1994 Marvel Universe set is a long time goal. Never got many of this set but I have a couple of the cards shown. I think my collecting them was mostly spurred by the cartoons.
ReplyDeleteI'm a lifelong comics fan, and was crazy into most of comic related card sets during the 90's.
