Can;t say these cards aren't eye catching with the bright backgrounds. No yellow name variations here, though two of the cards do have such a variation. I'm a bit torn on whether I like this variation or not. I appreciate it being done because it was done in the original set and heritage being true to this, but in this day and age of short prints, super short prints, variations and the like, I miss there being a simple straightforward base set that anyone can just collect.
Like getting a few more pickups for 2005-06 Upper Deck, even with a couple poor horizontal designs (neither does anything for me here).
An interesting 2008 Topps insert topic and design for Fans of the Game. Being Canadian, not the same draw as I am sure these have on Americans given the patriotic design, but an interesting topic nonetheless.
