Success as a dad and an excellent day indeed

Didn't get to talk about the Royal Rumble yesterday (it was on Sunday) as it was a rush yesterday as work will probably cause that on and off for the next few months. As usual, my cousin and brother came over and we may have possibly bet on the matches which resulted with me up $5 and my brother down $5 when the $75 of bets were done. The way we do it is to pick the winner, how (pin or other) and time of the match as a tie breaker if needed, and list out the ruble entrants spot by spot (closest for each entry wins) and all must be in by the Wednesday night before the Rumble.

Yeah - we get pretty into it.

The biggest success on the night for me, was seeing my son get emotionally involved and spent on a match. He's 7, and usually gets to watch the first match or two before he is off to bed. As it worked out, he got to see the whole Rumble. He cheered on Finn Balor and John Cena (he is seven after all). He was so excited to see Cena make the final few, but when Cena was eliminated he broke into legit tears and ran to his room, cried for a few minutes, then came back.

I was sad for him as he wanted Cena to win, but seeing him get emotionally involved was awesome to see and brought me back to how I was as a child.

Before anyone asks, since day one I have told him it is entertainment, and there is a lot of athleticism, but it isn't "real|", but them working to put on a show. He gets it, but like me (even now), you get into it and enjoy it. Was really great to see and made me fell good to help him "get it". Now to have him get the goosebumps/great moments of say Cena winning number 17...I think he would like that...

Wish I got more days like this one from the Santa Lot would be awesome too...

Highlight:

Start with a handful of Jays and Leafs. None new to the collection, but awesome to get so many in one day.

Then you add on the nice extra of an error card. This one must have been caught in the packaging as you can see the crimping right across the top of the card.

The rest

A few baseball cards today rather that the one, if any that usually seems to pop up.

The Drew Brees is 2007 Sports Illustrated, nice pickup there given the nature of those cards and not being overly collected in good condition.

  1. I just kept up with the results feed on a website for the Rumble.
My main interest was who they were going to fill the Women's Rumble with, since both rosters combined only add up to 18..

    1. Some were good....some were Kelly Kelly.....nice to see Molly Holly, Trish and Lita, and even Michelle McCool look pretty good. Still can't believe Torrie Wilson is only 42.
