Crossing Over

Whether you like it or not, there's money to be made in crossovers. It may be done to try and give an extra charge to something that is otherwise dying, or just trying to spread attention beyond the regular market, but either way, we have Universe Beyond sets from Wizards of the Coast and Magic the Gathering.

I care not at all about Fallout, but here we have a crossover with Magic. Happily, it's just a collector's booster as it isn't a "normal" release, so just one pack to pick up, and then some of the cheaper artifact singles from the set as well. You know when you collect because you collect, but then have to grow the attachment to certain cards - this one feels a bit more chore than fun.

Being a collector's set, there isn't a lot of "cheap" - read, under $1 cards right now. I am sure over time, some of the prices will tank while a few will skyrocket. Here we get a few cards, but many I didn't because of the new release and prices being a bit inflated. Maybe will get some more 6 months from now.

Not that these cards are "bad", but I just can't really judge how good a tie in to Fallout they do since I know nothing about it. Anyone out there with any knowledge on it?

  1. Not an expert, but I did buy Fallout New Vegas years ago for the PS4. Only played it a few times and didn't get into it. Recently they created a TV show based on the game and I watched it. It was interesting, but again... can't really help you with information about the game or cards.
