Loving The Legend

 These types of cards are what make lot purchases so interesting.

So, in and around 1989, Nintento and Topps/O Pee Chee made and sold these collectible scratch card games. As you can see on the back below, the scratch the circles to see what happens as you try and defeat the bad guy. There were a few different games that had cards and I believe 10 different cards for each game - though not sure if the scratch circle marks were the same each time on a given game card.

I don't recall these at all, and I was really into Nintendo 1988 to....well....even now.

I believe in reviewing, the trademark on the top right of the back is the only difference Topps versus O Pee Chee, and the copyright stuff at the bottom right too.

The instructions show, whoever scratched this card lost - 3 to 2.

It's an interesting little card, but the subject material is what I find so cool and Legend of Zelda was one of THE games as a kid, even though I didn't own it. My best friend did, and I borrowed it a lot after he beat it. It took a while, but was a game I did beat back in the day, before the internet let you know exactly where to find everything and do it quickly.

Not everything has to be easy - trying to teach my kids that sometimes, it is the more difficult things that you work through and have success with that are your biggest accomplishments.

Too bad the card is scratched off, but it's fine - my son who is into The Legend of Zelda games now called dibs as soon as he saw it anyway.
